Sports media

OCC founder Lisa Ratcliff has worked closely with Australian and international sports media since 1996.

Key events include the annual ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne, Festival of Sails, Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, Audi Hamilton Island Race Week and Surf Life Saving NSW’s state open titles.

Lisa has a thorough understanding of the media’s requirements for a strong story angle, good talent, photography and deadlines, and finding the harmony between delivering to media and satisfying the client’s brief.

Generating media publicity for both the event and its sponsor is one of Lisa’s key strengths and drivers.

She works with clients to establish objectives and target audiences then develops a PR/media plan to deliver on the brief. From long lead magazines and social media campaigns through to short lead opportunities, media attendance at the event and the resulting coverage, OCC will stay calm and within budget and step through the process side-by-side with the client.

Lisa has experience in conducting radio and TV interviews.

Integral to OCC’s success is Lisa’s ability to think like a news journalist and camera operator or photographer, to source the story and create the perfect visual accompaniment.

Sponsorship leverage

Lisa has worked with many sponsors including premium brand clients Rolex Geneva and Australia, BMW Sydney and Audi Australia.

Regardless of stature or spend, Lisa will advise honestly on what the client can expect in terms of mainstream and specialist media coverage, but also look for other opportunities to reach target audiences via social media, local media, signage and cooperative partnerships.

Lisa has no qualms asking for directions when driving and it’s the same with her business – if she feels she needs additional professional advice she has plenty of expert colleagues to call on.

Event management

From planning through to execution and follow up, OCC provides a complete service.

Skilled in broader event planning including signage, entertainment and photography through to the media component including media accreditation, press packs, designing a working media centre and being hands-on at the event.

OCC has a number of specialised subcontractors to call on if the event is significant in size, however Lisa will always manage the project through to completion.

Crisis management

Every event should have an emergency management plan.

Businesses, community organisations and sponsors who understand well ahead how they are going to communicate with their stakeholders, as well as the media, during a crisis will handle the situation far better.

Social media

Lisa can create the client’s presence and supply or edit content for whichever medium the client nominates.
